Formby Junior Sports Club - Franks report

Formby Junior Sports Club’s three Under 6 teams were the only teams to play matches last weekend. The friendly matches were all played at the Netherton Activity Centre on an artificial playing surface. The first match was against Vauxhall. FJSC played well against a very well organised team. Oscar Howard, Finn McDerby, Ezra Mavers and Ted McAuley shared the goalkeeping duties for short periods of time. All four boys made some excellent saves. Jaiden Crosby played well in midfield. Josh Tallon, Ted McAuley and man of the match Finn McDerby scored FJSC’s goals. . In the second game FJSC were in action against Maghull Whites. In a high scoring match Josh Halpin, Mason Stringer, Thomas Crutchley, Max McAuley and Rory Rankine were all on the score sheet. A number of the goals were very impressive and included some good passing and movement. Man of the match was Max McAuley. The final match saw yet another FJSC Under 6 team take the field. The opposition on this occasion was FCN. In another exciting match there were once again plenty of goals scored by both teams. The FJSC scorers were Harley Evans, Josh Halpin, Noah Walker-Hall, Sebastian Hodgson and Oliver Hall-Gleeson. The highlights of the match included Sebastian Hodgson, stepping up from Reception and scoring a hat trick. Noah Walker-Hall was man of the match after a performance that was full of running and desire and was capped off with a fantastic left foot finish at the end of the game. All the FJSC boys are to be congratulated for braving the weather conditions on a very wet and cold Sunday morning. The boys thoroughly enjoyed the matches and played with tremendous enthusiasm. Unfortunately the dreadful weather caused the cancellation of all the other FJSC matches and Inter Club football as well. It is hoped that the weather will improve for next weekend when a full programme of FJSC Representative team matches is scheduled. Inter Club football is hoping for the go ahead as well.
