Formby homes development over halfway sold
Sales have been racing ahead at Redrow’s sought-after Sanderling Park development in Formby as demand regularly outstrips supply.
The Andrews Lane development, just a couple of miles from the town’s famous beach, has proven hugely popular since its launch in April 2019; and 53 of the 97 planned properties are already spoken for.
Many of the reservations are ‘off-plan’ sales of properties still under construction and, with forward sales in such a strong position, there is currently limited availability.
There are, however, still some options for people who want to be part of this success and they include the three-bedroom detached Worcester, currently available from £354,995.
The Worcester epitomises the development’s embrace of classic, traditional-looking exteriors, inspired by the Arts and Crafts era. Inside, this detached, spacious home packs three-generously sized double bedrooms, with an en-suite attached to the master bedroom. Open-plan living spaces and high-specification fitted appliances make this a perfect home for a modern family or those looking to downsize, as well as its practical features such as a utility room and connected garage.
There’s also a three-bedroom Ludlow semi on the market from £279,995 or a four-bedroom detached Stratford from £347,995.
The popularity of the development accentuates Formby’s status as one of the North West’s most enviable areas to live.
Commenting, Lesley Myers, sales manager for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), said: “Formby is well-known as one of Merseyside’s most sought after locations, so we always knew these homes would be popular. People travel from across the region to enjoy the long sandy stretches, dunes and woods of Formby Beach. You’ve also got a superb selection of schools, world-class golfing resorts, as well as restaurants and shops just on your doorstep, which is why we’ve seen so many young families wanting to move into this community.
“Liverpool’s property market is said to be booming right now, with prices rising across the City Region. However, the Government’s Help to Buy scheme means properties at Sanderling Park can be bought with the help of a 20% equity loan that’s interest-free for five years and purchasers may only need a 5% deposit.”
Quite apart from the local attractions of Formby, trains from the town’s station – which is half a mile away – offer journey times to Liverpool Central of only 30 minutes or to Southport in just 18 minutes.
Residents of Sanderling Park will benefit from a network of recreational footpaths feeding into the existing rights of way and cycle network, the restaurants and shops of Formby town centre are less than a mile away and there’s a nearby Waitrose and M&S Simply Food.
Sanderling Park will eventually feature 97 properties. The 53 already sold include 27 of the development’s 31 affordable homes, designed to help local people stay in the area where they live and work. The private sale homes are a mix of three-bedroom semis and three and four-bedroom detached homes from Redrow’s sought-after Heritage Collection.
