Community projects in Formby invited to apply for a share of £5,000 of Redrow cash!
Community projects in and around Formby could have a share of £5,000 after Redrow announced the launch of its latest Community Fund. The homebuilder has set up the fund for its new development Sanderling Park in Formby and applications are being invited from local charities, community groups and other good causes. Redrow hopes to offer support to as many organisations and individuals as possible, promising to share out the cash pot accordingly. “Rather than give out one or two large amounts, we’d prefer to help a greater number of groups or people with a smaller one, to make sure that as many people as possible can benefit,” explained Lesley Myers, sales manager for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), “so we’d encourage everyone who feels we could support them to apply for funding. “It could be to buy new tables for a community hall, sponsor a sports team or provide outdoor play equipment for a toddler group. There are lots of different ways we can help because, as well as building new homes and communities, our ethos is to create communities too and contribute positively to those areas in which we build.” At Sanderling Park, in Andrews Lane, that includes creating open space with a network of recreational footpaths feeding into existing rights of way and the cycle network. “But we also like to make positive contributions in other ways, at grass roots level, and the Community Fund is just one of many ways we can do that,” Lesley added. “We are always delighted at the variety of requests that come our way, so we can’t wait to hear from people in and around Formby about how we can help them.” There has already been huge interest in Sanderling Park, which will see the creation of 97 homes, including 31 affordable properties, from Redrow’s Arts & Crafts Heritage Collection, with a mix of two-bedroom apartments, two and three-bedroom mews homes, three-bedroom semi-detached and four-bedroom detached properties. Two fully furnished show homes have recently opened - the Oxford Lifestyle and four-bedroom detached Cambridge – and both give a glimpse of the enviable lifestyle on offer. The Oxford Lifestyle is one of the homebuilder’s new generation of properties, a three-bedroom house built on the footprint of what would normally be reserved for a four-bedroom home, meaning each bedroom is larger and boasts its own en-suite. Its master bedroom, with a walk-through wardrobe and generous en-suite with both bath and walk-in shower, is more like a hotel suite. The development offers a superb and sought-after location, close to the stretched-out sands and dramatic dunes of Formby Beach and the National Trust pine forests; excellent schools, and a collection of handy shops and supermarkets – there is a nearby Waitrose and an M&S Simply Food – as well as popular bars and restaurants. Current prices at Sanderling Park are from £354,995 for a three-bedroom detached Worcester and from £394,995 for a four-bedroom Cambridge. Other three and four-bedroom homes are coming soon. Anyone interested in Sanderling Park and the homes available can find out more by calling 01704 740627 or visiting the website www.redrow.co.uk/sanderlingpark Those wishing to nominate a project for Redrow to consider supporting should email redrowfund@activepr.co.uk to request an application form, stating ‘Formby Community Fund’ in the subject line. The deadline for completed applications is June 28, 2019. Top Photo: Redrow’s Sanderling Park development in Formby – community groups nearby could be in for a windfall.
