Formby Festival Committee issued the following statement regarding the mix up with L37 Fest
Due to the confusion with L37 Fest, The Formby Festival has now sent a statement on Tuesday 28th May. Formby Festival statement as follows: Formby Food, Drink and Music Festival (known as Formby Festival) IS NOT CANCELLED.
We are now in our 7th year and will still be going ahead in Duke Street Park on the 19th, 20th and 21st July 2019. It is not moving from Duke Street Park, Formby or moving from its normal date of the 3rd weekend in July.
It appears that a great deal of confusion has been created by the L37 FEST which is a new event run by L37 Events Ltd and the committee of Formby Festival have never been involved or associated with L37 Fest. Formby Festival IS NOT Formby L37 FEST or L37 Fest, which was never being held in Formby.
We have lots of different things going on this year and we will not be cancelling and will continue as we have every year in Duke Street Park. Friday night is our PARTY IN THE PARK featuring live acts to include FLASH the number one tribute queen band, The Toons and other bands followed by an open air cinema to close the evening off.
Saturday is our GREATEST SHOW day. We have lots of bands and singers performing on the live music stage together with everything else people have come to expect at the Festival and this year we will be welcoming TWIST & PULSE (as seen on BGT) who will be performing on the stage, not to be missed. We will be finishing off with our fantastic MUSICAL FIREWORK DISPLAY to the Greatest Showman.
Sunday is our CARNIVAL DAY with the famous Batala Band and Brazillian Dancers with lots of bands and singers also performing.
We have display arena, food outlets, bars, craft/artisan, bake off competition, kids entertainment including magic shows and circus school and lots more on the Saturday and Sunday.
This year we will also be welcoming SKYFALL, THE MOBILE ZIP WIRE and we are really excited for this attraction to attend the Formby Festival.
