Formby Actor at Royal Court set to run the London Marathon for Queenscourt Hospice
Formby Actor Matthew Walker is currently in rehearsals for My Fairfield Lady, Liverpool’s Royal Court’s non-musical version of the classic My Fair Lady. Whilst he is learning lines for his new character he is also in training for the Virgin London Marathon on 28th April, fundraising for Queenscourt Hospice in Southport. The opening of My Fairfield Lady is the night before the marathon and as the curtains close on opening night, Matthew will be travelling over 200 miles to take part in his biggest challenge to date to run the 26.2 miles with his girlfriend Jade, in memory of his late Dad, David Walker. Matthew wrote on his Virgin Money fundraising page “Dad was my best friend and I miss him everyday. Queenscourt holds a very special place in my family’s heart as they looked after my Dad towards the end of his fight with cancer in February 2016.” “Being at Queenscourt was something we never imagined happening to us a family. They made a very painful situation easier to cope with. The staff was kind, gentle and supported Mum through the painful journey. Nothing was ever too much trouble.” https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/matthew-walker-queenscourt
