Formby Rotary Club welcome new member and speaker
The Rotary Club of Formby recently welcomed Edwina Alcock to a Club meeting.
Edwina is closely involved with the Southport and Formby National Trust Association. Although affiliated to the National Trust and raising funds for them this Association is a stand alone organisation.
It organises regular trips out, not just to National Trust properties but to other places of interest both local and further afield. They go to the theatre, restaurants, meet for social evenings in various local hostelries and have regular speaker evenings. Edwina explained that they welcome everybody but particularly single ladies who are not confident going out alone at night. The Association ensures everyone attending their meetings etc are safely home.
If you would like to know more about this please google Southport and Formby National Trust Association for contact details.
The Club recently inducted new member Bill Wright. Bill has been attending meetings on a regular basis for a few months, and decided he would like to become a member. Bill was also out with the Carol Wagon at Christmas, helped with the Clubs community events and has attended a number of social evenings.
The Club welcomed Bill and look forward to working alongside him in the future. Photo shows Edwina standing with President Alan Gibson and new member Bill second from the right.
