Roadworks on Liverpool Road in Formby causing huge traffic delays are set to stay until 7th March
Roadworks causing huge traffic delays are set to stay until 7th March. Electrical works are taking place along Liverpool Road (B5424) in Formby with temporary 3 - way traffic signals installed on the road outside the BP next to the Royal Pub in order to safely manage traffic during these works.
The traffic jams in peak times extend from the BP Garage to the bypass and continue as far as the Hightown turn-off. In the other direction in peak times, the traffic jam goes all the way down from the BP to the Cross House Inn. Off peak is still busy but obviously if you can avoid the area, that would be great.
In order to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum, Scottish Power contractors will work collaboratively with Cadent Gas to ensure that the improvements are completed on schedule.
The works have been ongoing since 18th February and involve excavation to install 2 x HV cables from J/O Royal Crescent to new site opposite Kent Road.
