Reids Rains has closed down in Formby village and will also close in Crosby today
Shocking news today as yet another shop in our village has closed down. Reids Rains which is next door to Woodwards on Chapel Lane has gone. Closed their doors yesterday, Thursday 7th February. The Crosby shop on Cooks Road is also closing down today.
A spokesman from Reids Rains said: "We can confirm that the Formby shop closed on Thursday and the Crosby shop will be closing today. It is all part of streamlining the business into a core bigger branch. Hopefully all the staff will be moved to the new core branch but we have not yet been told any details as to where that will be or how many staff will go."
This is devastating news for Formby Village, In the last month alone, we have lost the Royal Bank of Scotland and also Superdrug. We have also recently lost the Natwest Bank, New Look in June last year and Dorothy Perkins in June 2016 along with other shops and residents are scared that Formby will look like a ghost town. If Cockbain Wealth Management closes his two shops on Brows Lane (due to opening his large one in place of Prezzo), that will leave 5 empty shops on that row.
