Formby Junior Sports Club - Franks report 17th September

Formby Junior Sports Club Under 13 Whites gained a hard fought 6-4 win against Burscough. It was an end-to-end match with both teams taking the lead. Man of the match Marc Whitelaw scored a fine hat trick and there was also one goal each for Bobby Hersey, Rio Mason and Ellis Parry.

FJSC Under 12 Whites won 6-1 against new team FC Diamond. After also winning 5-3 in their first match of the season last week, the Whites are joint top of the Championship Division.

FJSC Under 14 Blacks suffered a heavy defeat by Southport FC. The Blacks with many new players will take time to gel so must not be disheartened by the result. The highlight of the match was Jack Taylor’s brilliantly taken goal. Man of the match was Rylie Read. Charlie Downey also played well.

FJSC Under 13 Blacks lost 6-1 to Ormskirk Sparta. Ellis Jones scored and goalkeeper Oliver Williams had another very good game. Man of the match was Daniel Wildman for his energetic display, tackling and passing.

FJSC Under 12 Blacks conceded three goals to Birkdale in the first few minutes of the match. The Blacks came back into the match and went close to scoring through efforts from Calum McNally, Jack Yarwood and Dylan Riley. Goalkeeper Caleb Johnson was man of the match. Birkdale finished strongly scoring three late goals.

FJSC Under 10 Whites played Hesketh Colts. Luke Lewis and Dilan Sathiyanathan scored and man of the match was Luke Irvine.

FJSC Under 10 Black played extremely well away at Town Green Blacks. The FJSC scorers were Michael Carragher, Thomas Dent, Aaron Rymill and Finley Richards who scored a second half hat trick. Man of the match was Harry Lofthouse.

FJSC Under 9’s were in action against Southport FC. The scorers in the match were Freddie Garvey, Charlie Garvey, Dominic Maxwell, Max Hall, James Cook, Archie Ogden, Zach Barton and Jack Finnegan. The joint players of the match were Dominic Maxwell and Jack Finnegan.

FJSC Under 8’s played Southport Trinity in an exciting match. Owen Griffiths, Thomas Szabo and man of the match George Hanson scored.

FJSC Under 15’s won 3 nil against Parkfield in the Bootle League. After a goalless first half Patrick Jones opened the scoring from close range following an excellent cross from George Forsyth. Lewis Pringle extended the Under 15’s lead scoring with an unstoppable shot from distance. After some quick inter- play Patrick Jones scored his second goal to give the Under 15’s a very impressive victory. Man of the match for his powerful display in midfield was Lewis Pringle.

FJSC GIRLS’ REPRESENTATIVE MATCH

FJSC Under 17’s playing in the West Lancs Under 18 Girls’ League made it two wins from two matches played after recording an 8-3 win over Hesketh Colts.

Rachelle Douras- Hanlon scored her first two goals for her new club and another new member Lucy Charalambou defended superbly along with Megan Houston and Charlotte Armstrong. Anna Rutherford scored four times and there was also one goal each for Sophie Dixon and Megan Houston. Goalkeeper Olivia Mulvey played well on a slippery and wet pitch.

Unfortunately all the Hightown Girls’ League matches were cancelled due to unfit pitches caused by heavy early Sunday morning rain. This sadly meant no Representative team football for ten FJSC Girls’ teams.

INTER CLUB SECTION

Once again there was heavy rain on Saturday morning but this did not deter the very enthusiastic early starters at 9am.

Two hundred and thirty-eight children played Inter Club football during the morning.

As we say each week everyone plays, there are no waiting lists and everyone is welcome in all Inter Club age groups.

Apart from the traditional Inter Club games there was additional coaching for the Reception children, Year One boys, Year Two boys and Year Three boys. All these children are already benefitting from the coaching/game hour. There was coaching for every girls group from Year One to Year Ten as well as matches, with over one hundred girls taking part.
