Four vehicle RTC in Formby Village this afternoon
An RTC (road traffic collision) involving four vehicles in Formby Village occurred at approximately 5:15pm this afternoon, Sunday 8th April. The good news is that the accident was damage only and nobody was hurt.
A spokesman from Merseyside Police said: "An elderly gentleman was driving down Brows Lane from Freshfield Road. As he approached the post office, the sun got in his eyes and he hit a car that was parked. He then lost control of the vehicle and hit a further two cars on Chapel Lane and the car then mounted the pavement taking out two bollards before coming to a stop outside New Look."
Police and Ambulance attended the scene. The Formby gentleman who is in his 70's was checked out at the scene and allowed to go home with no injuries.
The Silver Lexus was left on the pavement awaiting a truck to remove it. The Lexus suffered damage on both sides of the front of the vehicle.
