Changes to grey bin collections and a welcome return of green bin collections
After the unexpected snow yesterday, grey bins that should have been picked up today will now be collected on Monday 12th March.
The Green bin collections will commence for the first time this year on Monday 12th March in the afternoon. The Green Bin collections finished for the Winter in Sefton on Monday 27th November so it will be a very welcome return.
What you need to know...
All recycling can go together in the brown bins or hessian sacks. Please note that green wheelie bins can be emptied up until 8pm on collection days. Residents must not put any extra bags of general waste or recycling at the kerbside for collection.
Residents must ensure that the lids of their bins are fully closed when out for collection. If you have any additional waste or recycling that will not fit into your bin with a closed lid please take it to the nearest tip.
Formby recycling centre is your nearest and is now on Winter hours which are now from 8.00am until 5.00pm – changing to the summer hours of 8.00am to 8.00pm on April 1st.
