Dear Formby Bubble - Four young boys on bikes deliberately aimed at me
Last Saturday afternoon was attempting to cross the road (just by entrance to Waitrose car park) when 4 young boys on bikes came speeding along the pavement. These boys were aged approximately 12-13yrs. They were heading towards the village. One of the boys deliberately aimed his bike at me and it was only when I screamed that he swerved away from me. This was a quite deliberate attempt to knock me over with his bike. They sped off into the village. I would add that I am over 70 years of age, recovering from recent surgery and if that bike had hit me I would have been severely injured. Let's not forget that speeding bikes can kill.
I have read on your twitter feed this morning the article about people who complain about irresponsible dog owners on Formby beach. What about irresponsible parents? These parents must know what their children are doing or maybe they don't even care. I could have been severely injured last Saturday afternoon. I don't believe a bit of dog poo ever killed anyone but speeding bikes do. Can there please be some publicity about the ever-growing menace in Formby village of young boys/teenagers racing about on bikes before someone does actually have harm done to them?
