Formby Squirrels Rotary give £1,000 to Teenage Cancer Trust

Dave Bosworth, the immediate past president of Formby Squirrels presented a cheque for a thousand pounds to Julian Hobbs on behalf of the Liverpool Teenage Cancer Trust on Thursday 10th August at its monthly meeting.
The money will be used in furnishing a respite room at the Liverpool Royal Hospital for teenagers undergoing cancer therapy. In receiving the cheque Julian said that the room is approaching completion and will be a valuable asset allowing affected teenagers somewhere to go to be with people of their own age and relax whilst undergoing treatment. He thanked the Squirrels for their valuable support.
The Squirrels are looking to further support local charities and good causes, for example they are providing over 5,000 Crocus corms to local primary schools for their gardens, in support of the Rotary International project to achieve the eradication of Polio across the world. The corms will be distributed to all schools in Formby.
