Formby mum running 100k in the 'Race to the Stones' for Woodlands Primary School
Abby Sanderson is a Mum at Woodlands Primary School in Formby. She wants to help FOWSA (Friends of Woodlands School Association) raise £7,000.00 to enable them to facilitate an all weather, multi-purpose area. This facility will cost £12,000 in total to build and once done can and will be used all year round to promote exercise and healthy lifestyles for our children and wider community.
On 15th and 16th July, Abby will be running 100k to help raise the money. Abby said: "I will be taking part in 'Race to the Stones.' This is a 100K Ultra marathon which I will be running continuously. It takes place along The Ridgeway which is recognised as the oldest path in the UK from Lewknor to the Avebury Stone Circle."
A spokesman from Woodlands School said: "If you've not seen our totalisers, we have so far raised 40% of this target. Well meet one of our school mums, Abby Sanderson who has decided to take part in the 100k run (that's roughly 62miles - yes, you have read that right!) 'Race to the Stones' to try and raise £7,000 towards our goal."
