BOYS’ REPRESENTATIVE TEAM MATCHES

FJSC Under 13 Whites gained an important win against previously undefeated league leaders Southport Trinity Whites in the Premier Division.

The Under 13’s got off to a slow start conceding a penalty midway through the first half, which Trinity converted. FJSC equalised early in the second half from a Daniel Griffin penalty and went ahead when Tom Elder scored from the edge of the box. Southport Trinity drew level with ten minutes to go. In a thrilling finale to an action packed match the Whites were not to be denied and Joe Blanchard scored the winner with five minutes remaining. Man of the match in the 3-2 win was goalkeeper David Meadow.

FJSC Under 13 Whites are now one point behind Southport Trinity. Also in contention are Southport and Ainsdale Amateur Reds.

Luke Phillips scored for FJSC Under 12 Blacks in the 2-1 defeat by Ormskirk. James Wilson played well in defence and Sam Trainor worked tirelessly in midfield. The Blacks have now completed their league matches and have finished in a very commendable third position in the Championship Division.

FJSC Under 11 Blacks played Redgate Yellow. Lone striker Jacob Lewis scored the goals for the Blacks and was voted man of the match. It was a very good team performance.

The Under 9’s were also in action against Redgate Yellow. FJSC’s goal scorers were Lewis Parker, Jamie Simpson, Nathan Cousens and Corey Ashworth. Charlie Lynch made some good saves in goal. Gabe Bellemey, Jake Stanton, Harry Hale and Christian Maher all made important contributions in a good all round team display.

Dilan Sathiyanathan and Joe Hughes were the scorers for FJSC Under 8 Whites in a very close match against Redgate Black. Finley Richards was FJSC Under 8 Blacks man of the match in the closely contested match with Town Green.

FJSC Under 7 Whites played Redgate Yellow. The Whites continue to finish the season strongly with another impressive team display. Jacob Lynch, George Dent, Dylan Madeley and Jamie Jawook all scored in a great game.

FJSC Under Whites also had an enjoyable away match at Southport and Ainsdale Amateurs Blue. Max McBride and Lewis Forsyth were on target with goals.

GIRLS’ REPRESENTATIVE TEAM NEWS

With no weekend girls’ matches it is an ideal opportunity to report on the success of eight FJSC’s members.

FJSC was delighted to hear that four Under 14 girls – Anna Rutherford, Rachel Robinson, Ella Lawson and Lily Hamilton last weekend travelled to Doncaster to represent Merseyside Girls in a County Tournament. The girls played against teams representing South Yorkshire, Lancashire and Staffordshire.

Also during the season FJSC’s Holly Rimmer, Aalijah Turner, Eva Sears and Yasmin Godsall have played in numerous tournaments for Sefton Under 11’s, including reaching the Everton Trophy Final at Goodison Park.

To be selected for Merseyside and Sefton is a wonderful achievement and just goes to show how girls’ football at FJSC is going from strength to strength.

FJSC has one hundred and sixty-five girls playing football. This is a club record.
