Formby Teasers - The Slowboat

Do you remember the Slowboat? One of Formby’s many takeaways, serving Cantonese and Peking style dishes, but where was it? Behind the Slowboat was a large furniture store which then changed to a supermarket, do you remember which supermarket it was?

Answer: The Slowboat was situated where Sports Direct Fitness is now on Liverpool Road. The supermarket at the back was Kwik Save.

The Formby LA Fitness Club was also on this site until it was bought out in December 2014 by Sports Direct Fitness, the leisure division of Sports Direct which is still there now in 2017.
