Great Britain hockey player Michael Hoare, who represented his country at the Rio Olympic games, spent some time in Formby recently visiting local primary schools. Michael a former Formby resident, started playing hockey at Formby Hockey Club as a youngster and kindly gave up some time to support the club's Hockey Development Project. He visited St. Jerome's and Freshfield primary schools where he talked to the pupils about his journey to become a top international hockey player. Both schools have been part of the project for a number of years and their pupils receive hockey coaching from club coaches throughout the year.
