Hundreds Imagine Sefton 2030

Hundreds of people have got involved and had their say on how they imagine Sefton in 2030 and many more can still do so by attending events throughout the borough in July.

Sefton Council is currently leading on developing a new and exciting vision for the future of the borough and wants anyone who lives, works or visits Sefton to tell them their views.

Through Imagine Sefton 2030, Sefton Council will continue to engage the public, visitors, local businesses and potential investors in creating a vision that will collectively promote shared prosperity, coordinated public investment, and a healthy environment and population.

The engagement on the vision was launched in June and already hundreds of people have had their say. The consultation runs until July 29, which gives many more people the opportunity to get involved.

Cllrs Paulette Lappin and Trish Hardy are the sponsors for the Imagine Sefton 2030 Vision.

Cllr Paulette Lappin, Cabinet Member Regulatory, Compliance and Corporate Services, said: "The vision will guide Sefton into 2030 and beyond so we want to hear from people who live, have businesses, work and visit the borough so their views can help shape our future.

"So far we have had an amazing response from people from all walks of life giving us some really interesting and positive feedback."

Cllr Trish Hardy, Cabinet Member Communities and Housing, added: "The feedback has been really encouraging but we still want more people to get involved and seize this opportunity as what they say can and will shape our future plans. We have had great support from all of the partner organisations involved as well.

"Further events highlighting the vision are still taking place and all the details are available on a dedicated website www.imaginesefton2030.co.uk."

Working closely with partners, businesses, private sector organisations, the voluntary, community and faith sector and the wider Sefton community, the aim is to focus on what is important and to be ambitious for the borough and its communities in the future.

The vision will guide long term planning - helping to collectively stimulate growth, prosperity, set new expectation levels and to help focus on what is important for Sefton.
