Sefton Council are inviting comments on modifications to the Local Plan at Shorrocks Hill.

Residents are being asked to give their views on a potential site for housing in Formby.

The recent Local Plan modifications included a site at Shorrocks Hill, Formby as a potential site for new homes.

The 3.3 hectare site, between Lifeboat Road and Alexandra Road, is proposed for 60 houses. The north of the site is also expected to provide for a new public car park and an adjacent toilet facility for visitors.

Improvements to the nearby area that the development of the site is required to provide include the long-term management of the adjacent local wildlife site, better public access to the woodland area and the extension of the existing bridleway from Lifeboat Road to Alexandra Road.

Cllr Daren Veidman, Cabinet Member Planning and Building Control, said: "It must be noted that no planning application has been received for this site.

"At this stage, the principle of the site's suitability for development is up for consideration and anyone can comment on this.

"If the site is accepted, a subsequent planning application will still be required before any development can proceed. Residents will have a further opportunity at that point to make comments as well."

Comments are invited on the site and requirements until Wednesday, August 3.

All comments received will be sent to the Planning Inspector who will decide whether the site is suitable for new homes.
