On Monday evening children from Trinity St Peters Primary School and St Lukes Primary School took part in this musical extraveganza. They all had a very memorable day and loved the entire experience, thanks to Young Voices.
Young Voices has introduced over one million children to live music in the past 17 years.
All the music is specially selected and arranged to give children the widest variety of songs to perform, they hope that by providing a diverse range of musical styles children will learn, enjoy, and gain a greater, fuller understanding of music.
For some of the music, they provide dance moves that can be performed whilst singing the songs, adding an electric atmosphere to the concerts.
The Manchester Arena is the biggest venue on the tour. The choirs range from 4,500 to 8,500 children, all performing at the same time to capacity audiences of friends and family, producing an amazing sound and atmosphere.
They are in fact , the largest school choir concerts in the world.
Nothing can prepare you for the sound of thousands of children singing in harmony. Young voices combines the power of singing together as one, with accompaniment from a wide range of musicians and artists, to create an amazing performance.
(One of these musicians lives in Formby and this year her own daughter took part)
Every year, schools across the country practise the music in class with their teachers to prepare themselves to take part in these massive concerts. Over the years the children in the choir have performed with artists such as Alexandra Burke, Joss Stone, and Gary Barlow as well as raising over 1 million pounds for Children’s charities such as CLIC Sargent.
With a full live band, backing singers and the internationally acclaimed conductor David Lawrence, it makes for one of the most exciting and memorable musical experiences you can imagine.
