The National Lottery is urging West Lancashire players to check their millionaire raffle after a winning ticket bought in the borough remains unclaimed.

Every week, Lotto Millionaire Raffle guarantees to create two millionaires – one on Wednesday and one on Saturday – but one of the lucky winners from the special Lotto draw on 21 November 2015, when 10 millionaires were created in one night, has still to check their ticket and claim their prize.

Players in the District of West Lancashire are being urged to check and double-check their unique Lotto Millionaire Raffle code for the chance to become an instant millionaire.

For every Lotto line played, players automatically receive a Lotto Millionaire Raffle code printed on their ticket.

The winning code on 21 November 2015 for this prize was LIME 8233 8540 and the lucky ticket-holder has until 19 May 2016 to claim their prize.

If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline, then the prize money, plus all the interest it has generated, will go to help National Lottery-funded projects across the UK.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “We’re eager to find the mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings – this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life. We’re urging everyone who bought a Lotto ticket in this area to check their old tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding.

“Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa – someone out there could literally be sitting on a fortune! We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win.”

To help jog Lotto players’ memories about what was happening around the date of the draw in question, football fans may remember that a host of nearby football clubs were in action on Saturday 21 November: In the Premiership Liverpool handed out a 4-1 hammering to Manchester City at Anfield, while in the Championship Preston lost 2-1 at home to Blackburn and in League One Wigan overcame Shrewsbury 1-0 at home.
