Met Office issues weather warning with wintry blizzards and strong winds forecast

People in Formby are being warned about the prospect of snow, ice and strong winds.
The Met Office has today issued a Yellow Warning of Snow and Ice for parts of North West England, which covers areas including Merseyside and Lancashire.

Other areas set to be hit include: Cumbria, Blackburn with Darwen, Greater Manchester, Warrington, Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester & Halton.
The warning is in place from 6pm this evening (Saturday, January 30) until 11am on Sunday (January 31).
People, including motorists using the region's roads, are being asked to be aware as wintry blizzards roll in.
