Good Morning on Wednesday 13th January. It is a cold frosty start in Formby with temperatures at 6°C but feeling like 1°C with a cold westerly wind of 13mph.
After an icy but bright start to the day, showery rain will move in through the morning with heavy outbreaks later today and a risk of thunder.

The Met Office have issued a Yellow Warning to Formby and across the North West. A standard showery northwesterly airstream, followed by a fairly widespread frost away from windward coasts, means an ice risk to start the day on Wednesday. In most areas the breeze should lead to drying out of surfaces, but late showers, or water seeping from fields, increases the likelihood of local problems.
Showers will continue for some time yet, then more widely clearing skies will allow untreated surfaces to fall below freezing, with the likelihood that some icy stretches will form, away from exposed coasts. Please be aware of locally hazardous conditions.
