Formby Junior Sports Club season starts tomorrow at Deansgate Lane

Formby Junior Sports Club season starts tomorrow at Deansgate Lane for boys and girls from age 4yrs to 17yrs

Formby Junior Sports Club is a Saturday football club for juniors - boys and girls.

There are approximately 600 players between the age of 4 and 17 years. The club has 77 teams. Over 55 teams play in the Inter Club Section. This means the club organises the teams and matches so that any child wanting to play football can do so in a safe and happy environment.

The club also has teams representing the club in local leagues on Saturdays and Sunday.

***** ***** ***** ***** ***** *****

NEW MEMBERS IN ALL INTER CLUB AGE GROUPS ARE MOST WELCOME TO JOIN AND WILL IMMEDIATELY BE PLACED IN A TEAM.

On Saturday 5th September Inter Club will commence at Deansgate Lane at 9am for the Reception and Year One Sections. Parents, if your child is interested to start playing football please bring him/her along. Just see if they enjoy the experience. FJSC IS A VERY FRIENDLY CLUB and you will be made most welcome.

Every effort has been made to inform the local schools of the start of the new season but in case letters are not given out in time, as we appreciate that the schools will be very busy, we ask you all to pass on this information to friends.

At 10am it will be the time for three more boys’ sections – the Year Two Division, the Years Three and Four Division and the Years Five and Six Division. ALL boys who have already joined the club have been placed in a team. As more boys join between now and the start of the season they will be added to the team lists. Those boys joining on the 5th September will also be allocated to a team and will be able to play on the day.

There should be three exciting divisions. Each team will have a name. In other words you will all be in a team! No trials – join and your in and you will always play and you will never be left out. This is a promise we can and always keep in the Inter Club Section which has operated with great success since 1959. It does not matter whether you are just a beginner – we are great believers that the more you play the better you will become.

In order to help to develop skills from Saturday 12th September (the second Saturday) we have arranged for Coaching sessions to take place in addition to the Inter Club matches. We have three highly qualified Coaches to help the children improve their individual skills at the following times.

Reception – 9am followed by games at 9.30am.

Year One – at 9.30am after games at 9am.

Year Two – at 9.30am before games at 10am

Years Three/Four – at 9.15am before games at 10am.

At 11am it will be the Girls’ Inter Club time when over 100 girls are expected to descend on Deansgate Lane. For the first time in the club’s history there will be four sections. Years Two/Three (and possibly Year Ones as well) , Years Four/Five, Years Six/Seven and Years Eight /Nine. All the girls, like the boys, have been placed in teams. Many more girls of all ages are likely to be joining and they will also be immediately placed in a team. Following the fantastic success of England Ladies ( the Lionesses) at the Women’s World Cup even bigger numbers of girls are expected this season.

Letters and fliers have been sent to all the local schools but just like the boys please pass on this information to friends in case letters are late being given out due to the new school year.

On Saturday 12th September at 10.10am, before the Inter Club games at 11am, Coaching sessions have been arranged for the girls as well.

There will be an additional cost per child of £2 (to pay the coaches).

The standard of coaching is very high and FJSC is very lucky to have these coaches to help us. Those children who regularly attended coaching last season improved their ball control and skills immensely.

Also starting on Saturday 5th September and on Sunday 6th September will be the FJSC Representative Teams.

There are 16 Boys’ Representative teams from Under 7 to Under 17 apart from an Under 15 team this season.

11Girls’ teams will also be representing FJSC from Under 9 to Under 16 apart from Under 15 level. Two more Girls’ teams will also be quickly formed at Under 7 and Under 8 taking the total number of Girls’ teams to 13.

THERE WILL BE A TOTAL OF TWENTY-NINE FJSC TEAMS AT REPRESENTATIVE LEVEL - ANOTHER NEW RECORD.

The majority of the boys’ teams will be action over the first weekend of the season. Details will be sent out by team managers.

The three eldest Girls’ teams will also be in action with the younger teams due to start a week or two later. Parents will be again notified by managers.

IMPORTANT INTER CLUB MESSAGES FOR PARENTS

The 5th September will be busy at Inter Club with a lot of organisation to be done in a short amount of time.

PLEASE attend fifteen minutes before the start time. If your child has not joined yet please complete membership forms in the clubhouse before the start (or during the session).

For parents (especially of the younger age groups) of children starting for the first time – please complete a form. Subscription can be paid after 2-3 weeks if uncertain but we do need the form completed.

When your child arrives at the pitch please make sure that you give in your child’s name to the age group organiser. This is very important.

FJSC 2015-2016 Handbooks will be given out the following week. However if you need more information about FJSC please read the very informative website.

To speed up the enrolling process you can download a membership form and Gift Aid form from the website. Click on Home – then About Us and scroll down to Documents.

On Monday 7th September my weekend club report about FJSC’s first weekend of the season will appear on the website under Latest News and entitled Frank’s Report.
