Golf - Wilkinson at home on the Grange

The Isle of Man hosted the prestigious Northern Counties Championship at Mounty Murray.

Congratulations to Lancashire who won by 2 shots from Cheshire.

John Carroll leapfrogged Lancashire County team-mate Paul Kinnear to take top spot in the Galvin Green Northern Order of Merit after finishing seventh in the Grange Park Rose Bowl.

The Huyton & Prescot man was seven shots behind host club player Joshua Wilkinson who posted rounds of 71 and 70 for a three-under-par total and his first victory in the series.

He pipped his clubmate Ryan Corbett by a stroke thanks to a birdie on the last hole.
