A Trailer for Gracepoint, the American version of Broadchurch to be screened in UK. Formby creator Chris Chibnall's hit show is set in California.

Gracepoint, the American adaptation of Broadchurch is to be shown in the UK on ITV Encore next month. The show, which was created by Formby writer Chris Chibnall, is a new 10-episode series which expands on the original series, threading new storylines through the plot.

When a young boy is found dead on an idyllic beach, a major police investigation gets underway in the small California seaside town where the tragedy occurred.

Soon deemed a murder, the case sparks a media frenzy, which throws the boy’s family into further turmoil and upends the lives of the town’s residents.

Featuring an all-star cast including David Tennant, Emmy Award winner Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad), Emmy Award nominee and Golden Globe Award winner Nick Nolte (Luck) and Golden Globe Award nominee Jacki Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook) as the powerful crime series moves to its startling conclusion, the investigation cuts a devastating swathe through the town of Gracepoint.

Gracepoint was produced in partnership with Shine America in association with Kudos and Imaginary Friends, Gracepoint is executive produced by the original series’ creator, Chris Chibnall (Broadchurch, The Great Train Robbery) who wrote the premiere episode of Gracepoint and is executive produced by Shine America’s Carolyn Bernstein (The Bridge) Kudos’ Jane Featherstone (The Hour, Utopia) and Dan Futterman and Anya Epstein. The series is being distributed by Endemol Shine International.

Gracepoint will air on ITV Encore, a channel dedicated to drama, next month.
