Merseyside Police have issued a cold weather warning to motorists....
A cold weather warning has been issued for Merseyside and a yellow warning of snow and ice is currently in place for parts of the North West.
Merseyside Police is reminding the public that conditions for travel in parts of the area may be hazardous and that extra caution should be taken.
If you are travelling you should ensure:
That you and your vehicle are adequately prepared for the conditions
Make sure you have sufficient fuel and supplies such as warm clothing, food and water in the event that you are delayed
Charge your mobile phone
Plan your route as well as alternative routes
Motorists should also beware of black ice on the roads, especially on bends or where the road is shaded by trees.
