Road Collision in Birkdale involving Three Cars

Firefighters were called out to a three car road collision in Birkdale. Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service attended Kew Road, near Guildford Road, just after 12.30pm. The collision involved two cars and a parked car. Paramedics freed a 79-year-old man and a 77-year-old woman from one of the vehicles. They were taken to Southport Hospital for a precautionary check. A 74-year-old man, who was in one of the cars, was checked at the scene by paramedics. Firefighters gave first aid and made the vehicles safe. Two fire appliances from Southport Community Fire Station were called out. Firefighters were there for around 50 minutes.
