High tides are expected today and again tomorrow along the Formby coastline, with strong easterly winds likely to make conditions more severe.
Today, Thursday 5 February, there is a very high tide forecast for Formby, reaching its peak at 1:13pm. The tide will rise to approximately 9.10 metres across Formby, Southport, Ainsdale and Crosby.
Due to the height of the tide, there will be little or no beach available for around one hour either side of the peak time. Anyone heading to the coast is urged to take extra care.
Weather conditions today are cold, with temperatures around 5°C, but it will feel closer to -6°C due to strong easterly winds of around 22mph.

High tides are expected to be at there highest around lunchtime and midnight, and similar conditions are forecast to continue tomorrow, Friday 6 February.
Tides are the natural rise and fall of sea levels caused by the combined gravitational effects of the Moon and the Sun, along with the rotation of the Earth.
If you do head down to the beach and take any photos, please send them to info@formbybubble.com.
Please wrap up warmly, stay well back from the water and take care.
