From Heartbreak to Hope: Formby Family Raises an Incredible £117,000 in Simon’s Memory

Twenty Years of Love, Hope and Determination Leads to an Incredible £117,000 Raised in Simon’s Memory.

Twenty years ago, Clare Wallis lost her beloved husband Simon, and her daughters lost their dad, to the devastating effects of Motor Neurone Disease.

No amount of time can ever fill that space in a family’s life, but instead of allowing grief to define them, Clare, her daughters, family and friends made a promise that Simon would never be forgotten. They would honour his memory by helping others facing the same heartbreaking disease.

Over the past two decades, they have poured their hearts into fundraising, organising charity events, bringing people together and raising awareness of Motor Neurone Disease. Every event has been driven by love, every donation has carried hope, and every pound raised has been a tribute to a man who continues to inspire so many people.

This year marked twenty years since Simon’s passing, and to honour the occasion Clare and her daughter Natalie organised a spectacular charity ball at Formby Hall Golf Resort.

Their dream was to raise an incredible £100,000 in Simon’s memory.

It was a target that many would have thought impossible.

But this remarkable family, supported by an equally remarkable community, did not just reach their goal.

They smashed it.

Today, Simon’s Tribute Fund has raised an astonishing more than £117,000, with the anniversary charity ball alone raising an incredible £21,621.05 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Numbers can tell a story, but this figure tells something far greater than money.

It represents twenty years of unwavering love.

Twenty years of family and friends standing shoulder to shoulder.

Twenty years of laughter mixed with tears.

Twenty years of people giving their time, generosity and kindness so that one family’s loss could help bring hope to countless others.

Every raffle prize donated, every ticket bought, every event organised and every person who has contributed has become part of Simon’s legacy.

Motor Neurone Disease continues to change lives in the cruellest way imaginable, but thanks to people like Clare, Natalie and everyone who has supported this incredible journey, vital funds have been raised to support those living with the disease today while helping researchers move closer to finding better treatments and, one day, a cure.

Everyone at Formby Bubble would like to congratulate Clare, Natalie, their family, friends and every single person who has supported Simon’s Tribute Fund over the past twenty years.

Raising more than £117,000 is an extraordinary achievement, but the greatest achievement of all is ensuring that Simon’s memory continues to make a difference.

His life may have been cut short, but his legacy will continue to touch lives for generations to come.

What an incredible example of the power of love, family and community. ❤️
