In September 2022, the StemCellScousers who fundraise to recruit new Stem Cell Donors and support Blood Cancer Charities resumed their fundraising activities after the Pandemic and were able to donate £2,329 to the Anthony Nolan Charity enabling them to recruit 58 new StemCell Donors. £200 to the Leukaemia Care Charity, £200 to the L6 Centre in Liverpool for their Mobil Santa’s Grotto to go to Alder Hey Children's Hospital and £200 to the Royal Liverpool Hospital.
The final event in December was Christmas raffles at the Freshfield Pub in Formby, which raised £415 and was supported by the Mayor of Sefton, Cllr Clare Carragher (Pictured above).
StemCellScousers was founded in 2015 by Kevin Dunne (above right in the photo), with some friends and family after the Anthony Nolan found his wife the only matching Stemcell donor in the world and cured her Leukaemia.
To date they have raised a fabulous £62,875 and wish to thank their very generous extended family, Sefton residents and business’s and Not least their dedicated volunteers for their amazing support making this possible.
StemCellScousers are now trying to raise £1500 to buy a Branded Gazebo, New Banners, tabling etc, enabling them to fundraising at events like the Formby Festival and Southport Flower Show.
They have been accepted for a Tesco Community Grant ( Blue Token Scheme) starting 15th January to 15th March In Tesco Kew, Tesco express’s in CHAPEL St. AINSDALE, BIRKDALE, EASTBANK St. ALBERT Rd. (Esso garage) and CHURCHTOWN.
StemCellScousers are appealing for support from the public to vote for them with their BLUE TOKENS.
In 2021 the Anthony Nolan found 1050 UK Blood Cancer Patients and 280 International Patients a Life Saving Donor. Very Sadly 1450 UK Patients Failed to find their LifeSaver.
