The committee at Merseycats has thanked everyone who helped make this year’s Formby Live at Formby Pool another huge success, following a fantastic weekend of live music, entertainment and fundraising in glorious sunshine.
The charity has expressed its sincere gratitude to everyone who came along over the weekend of 20th and 21st June, as well as Formby Pool Trust for once again inviting Merseycats to provide the entertainment.
Across the two days, 12 live acts kept the crowds entertained, with special thanks going to Mark Jones, who expertly kept the event running smoothly as MC throughout the weekend.
The committee also wished to recognise the incredible efforts of Cathye and Amy on the merchandise stall, Christine Maloney for the ever-popular face painting, and Ann, Gina and the dancing team, who kept the atmosphere alive despite the soaring temperatures.
A huge thank you was also given to the dedicated set-up and pack-down volunteers, who worked tirelessly from the Friday before the event until the Monday afterwards to ensure everything ran seamlessly.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, Merseycats raised an incredible £1,859.48 for The Rock and Roll Children’s Charity. This total included a generous donation from Formby Pool Trust, more than £452 from merchandise sales, almost £352 from face painting, and £305 collected in donation buckets.
The committee said that every pound raised will help support sick and disadvantaged children across Merseyside and thanked everyone who attended, donated, volunteered and performed.
“Without your continued support, we simply couldn’t do what we do. Thank you for helping us make a real difference to the lives of local children. We look forward to seeing you all again next year – and hopefully every Thursday night at The Oldy Club in Aintree!”
