It became a Magnificent Seven Trophies for Formby Junior Sports Club in the last week of the season when FJSC Under 12 Blacks became Hightown Spring Premier League Winners and FJSC Under 11 Whites won the Hightown Shield.
HIGHTOWN JFL SPRING PREMIER DIVISION PLAY-OFF
FJSC UNDER 12 BLACK 1 CROSBY STUART 0
FJSC Under 12 Black played Crosby Stuart in a Play-Off. Whoever was to win would be crowned the winners of the Hightown Junior League Spring Premier Division. This was after the two teams had been tied at the top of the league. For FJSC it also meant the chance of winning a treble for the season so a lot was riding on the game for the team.
FJSC started the game well as both teams battled to get a foothold in the match on what was a difficult pitch. After ten minutes or so FJSC started to use their wingers well with Alfie Forsyth and Finley Scott getting into some great positions for crosses. With Isaac Jones and Charlie Richardson up front Crosby Stuart knew that they were in a game.
Midway through the first half Crosby started to grow into the game and a great header from a corner hit the FJSC crossbar but a combination of Ellis Coyne and Louis O’Connor in defence managed to ensure the second ball was cleared from the FJSC area. Crosby Stuart continued to mount attacks andFJSC’s Alfie Frost and Caden came to the rescue blocking more chances being created.
FJSC made their first change with Alex Barr coming into defence and Louis O’Connor moving onto the wing. The first half ended 0-0. Sylvan O’Hara entered the field for the second half giving some bite in midfield and soon FJSC started to take control of the game.A sharp run by Charlie Richardson saw him go through one on one with the Crosby keeper but a good save kept the score at 0-0. Another tactical change was made. Ben Webster was brought on as FJSC started to look the more likely team to score. A fine finish by Charlie Richardson looked to have given FJSC the lead only for it to be ruled out for offside.
Eventually all the pressure told on Crosby Stuart and Isaac Jones raced through onto a through ball to finish smartly to put FJSC 1 nil ahead. Leo Fagan was then added by FJSC to give some protection to the back line to try and hold the one goal lead. Crosby created one chance but quick reactions by Oscar Phillips saw him get down to the ball first before the Crosby striker could pounce.
Soon after the final whistle was blown and FJSC Under 12 Blacks had won to become Champions and had become Treble winners as well as Runners-Up in the Craven Minor League Premier Division.
It was a season for the boys to be very proud of and it was what they deserved for all the hard work they had put in every Saturday and Sunday plus many, many training sessions regardless of the weather throughout the season. Every member of the squad had played their part. Well done boys and the very proud management team of Simon Walker, Mark O’Connor and Jarlath O’Hara.

HIGHTOWN JFL UNDER 11 SHIELD FINAL
FJSC UNDER 11 WHITE 1 NETHERTON ATHLETIC 0
FJSC Under 11 Whites were in action against a very good Netherton Athletic. In a very exciting nail-biting match which had plenty of action the score was 0-0 at full time. The FJSC boys held their nerve and showed incredible composure and won the Penalty Shoot-Out to win the trophy. It was another excellent performance by all the boys. Congratulations to the boys and Team Manager Andy Halpin.
