Formby Village Tennis Club Celebrates Coach of the Year Success

There is celebration in the heart of the village as Formby Village Tennis Club proudly congratulates its Head Coach, Oli Hobson, on being named Coach of the Year at the Lancashire Tennis Awards 2026.

The prestigious award was announced on Friday evening, 27th February, and recognises the outstanding contribution Oli has made to tennis both at the club and across the wider community.

Members at Formby Village Tennis Club say the honour comes as no surprise. From supporting complete beginners as they take their first steps onto the court, to building confidence in adult players and inspiring junior members to develop a genuine love for the game, Oli is known for bringing energy, enthusiasm and professionalism to every session.

Described by members as inclusive, welcoming, encouraging and technically excellent, Oli’s leadership has played a key role in helping the club continue to grow and thrive.

Although he may shy away from the spotlight, the club is delighted to see him recognised for the dedication and passion he brings to tennis in Formby.
