Jessica Cooper proudly represented Formby Swimming Club at the Swim England North West Summer Regional Championships 2026, delivering an outstanding performance at one of the region’s leading events.
Jessica qualified for six races, although she competed in four due to a prior commitment. This season marks her first full year of competitive swimming, making her achievements even more impressive following only a small number of competitions before this year.

Her results placed her among the top 20 swimmers in the North West for the 200 metre freestyle in the 14 year old age group. She also secured an excellent 13th place in the 100 metre backstroke and achieved a top 10 finish in the 50 metre freestyle.
Saving her strongest performance for last, Jessica reached the final of the 50 metre backstroke with a significant personal best time. She then raised her performance even further in the final, surpassing that new personal best to finish in an exceptional 5th place. This result ranks her as the 5th fastest 14 year old backstroke swimmer in the entire North West.
A fantastic achievement and a testament to her hard work and dedication. Congratulations Jessica, you are an absolute credit to Formby Swimming Club.
