A beautiful little pink and purple house has appeared on Park Avenue in Formby, but this is no ordinary dolls’ house. Behind its tiny doors is a wonderful idea that could make a big difference to someone’s day.
The Little Hut of Hope officially opened on Sunday 18th October 2026, following weeks of hard work, creativity and dedication by local resident Lesley, who has lovingly brought this heartwarming project to life.
Decorated with butterflies, hearts, flowers and a pretty pink roof, the miniature house is designed to spread kindness, encouragement and hope throughout the Formby community.
And the most wonderful thing about it? Everything inside is completely free.
A Little House With a Big Heart
The Little Hut of Hope is a community kindness project where anyone can stop, open the doors and discover a little gift of encouragement, comfort or inspiration.
The idea is beautifully simple. If something inside catches your eye or brings you a little happiness, you are welcome to take it.
There is no charge, no obligation to donate and absolutely no expectation that you leave anything in return.
It might be a small handmade gift, a painted stone carrying a positive message, a little reminder that someone cares or something that simply makes you smile.
The hut has been created for everyone, whether you’re having a difficult day, feeling lonely, need a little encouragement or simply fancy discovering something lovely.
Sometimes the smallest gesture can mean the most.
What Does The Little Hut of Hope Mean?
There is a special meaning behind the name.
H.U.T. stands for Hearts United Together.
H.O.P.E. stands for Helping Others Positively Everyday.
Together, they represent everything Lesley hopes to achieve through this wonderful community project.
The aim is to create a little place where kindness can be shared freely, without anyone needing to ask for help or explain why they might need a little encouragement.
It’s about reminding people that they matter and that even the smallest act of kindness can brighten someone’s day.
Weeks of Love and Hard Work
Lesley has spent weeks painting, decorating, crafting and preparing the little house, carefully adding the beautiful finishing touches that make it so special.
From its delicate pink roof and pretty bay windows to the butterflies and colourful stones, every detail has been created with love.
Announcing the official opening, Lesley shared her excitement at finally seeing her dream become a reality.
She explained that everything inside has either been lovingly handmade or donated, with the intention of bringing happiness, comfort and encouragement to others.
Lesley has also shared a particularly touching wish for everyone who visits.
“May everyone who visits find exactly what they need in that moment.”
Whether that’s a smile, a moment of peace, a little encouragement or simply the reassurance that somebody cares, she hopes the hut will offer something meaningful to everyone who discovers it.
Where Can You Find The Little Hut of Hope?
The Little Hut of Hope is now officially open on Park Avenue in Formby.
Visitors are invited to take a little wander along the road and look out for the beautiful miniature house with its distinctive pink roof, purple stand, butterflies and hearts.
You really cannot miss it once you spot it!
Simply stop, have a look inside and, if something catches your eye, you are welcome to take it home.
You don’t need to bring anything, make a donation or leave something in exchange.
