REPRESENTATIVE TEAM MATCHES
FJSC Under 12 Blacks played Hillside FC knowing that a win would see them go top of the table in the Hightown Spring Premier League. After a 5-1 defeat to Hillside in the Hightown Cup only one week ago, FJSC knew that a top class performance was going to be required from the boys.
From the first minute, FJSC came out of the traps and created a number of chances against Hillside and if it was not for an outstanding performance from the Hillside goalkeeper the score could have been 4 nil early on. However it took until the 15th minute for FJSC to break the deadlock when Finley Scott scored direct from a corner kick. FJSC did not stop and before half time a well worked move saw the Hillside goalkeeper again make a number of saves before Caden Walker slotted home a rebound to make the score 2-0 before half time.
It was important that FJSC kept on top knowing that a win by Crosby Stuart and a FJSC loss would see FJSC lose the title. Soon after half time Charlie Richardson latched onto a great through ball to make it 3-0 to settle nerves on the sideline. FJSC kept pushing and Isaac Jones added to the score line with a smart finish to make it 4-0 with the final goal coming from Ellis Coyne via a corner to seal a good 5-0 victory and the vital three points.
It was a very good all round team performance and the result meant a joint top of the leaguefinish with Crosby Stuart and a Play-Off match to decide the overall winners. The Man of the Match Award went to the whole FJSC Under 12 Black squad. Remarkably the Under 12 Blacks have gone through all their Winter and Spring Premier Division matches undefeated.
FJSC Under 6 Whites played Clay Brow Bilbao for the second time this season. It was a pulsating match played in very hot weather. FJSC took a 3-1 lead with great work from Leo McGuire who set up an excellent finish for Kayden Dowdall. The team hit a bit of aflat spot and the tables turned with Bilbaoleading the game. A long distance shot from William Laugley got FJSC back into the game supported by a couple of great goals from Edison Foy to draw the match level. The rest of the team all worked hard and kept the game close until Clay Brow pulled away to win the match in the closing stages.
The FJSC Under 6 Whites team has made huge strides this season and the team spirit and individual skill and effort, the team has put in will ensure that they have an exciting debut season in the Craven Minor League.
