Formby Junior Sports Club held its Annual Presentation Evening on Friday 22nd May at Holy Trinity Parish Hall. There were three separate ceremonies on the night.
Master of Ceremonies, FJSC Chairman Frank Rourke said that the club was now 67 years old which is quite an achievement and at present has a club membership of 365 which is 50 more than the previous season. There had been 26 Representative teams this season from Under 5 to Under 15. The club’s Inter Club Section was as always open to all children regardless of ability from four year old to fourteen year olds. There were 27 Saturday sessions at Inter Club which was exactly the same as last season.
Executive Committee members Ray Highton,John Warren, Keith Jones were all thanked for their help during the season and together with Inter Club volunteer and former FJSC team manager Bob Broomfield, they presented every FJSC member with an end of season medal to congratulate each individual for their wonderful efforts during the year. Trophies were also presented throughout the evening.
Also thanked was Marg Rourke for her unbelievable amount of work for the club behind the scenes with club administration, membership, club finance and the FJSC website.
As well as receiving an end of season club medal the following members were also presented with trophies.

THE GLYN MASON MEMORIAL AWARDS FOR 2025-2026
These two very prestigious awards were presented by members of Glyn’s family – Cathy ( Glyn’s mum) and Joe (Glyn’s nephew).

FJSC UNDER 11 BLACK
The team were Craven Minor League Cup Winners and had a wonderful league season.
The Glyn Mason Trophy was presented to“Team Captains’ on the day ” Max Byford and Jack Hansen. All squad members received a small trophy. They were awarded to Max Byford, Ethan Catleugh, Asher Fields, Jack Hansen, Ashley Jones, Idris Jones, Joseph Kerrigan, Isaac Melton, Alex Rowley, Oliver Stinson, Adam Tyler-Holland and Noah Underwood. Also presented with a trophyeach were Joint Managers Colin Byford and Paul Hansen.

FJSC CLUB PLAYER OF THE YEAR
LUCAS LEWIS
Lucas joined FJSC as an Inter Club player andhas been an ever present member of his Representative team since it was formed. Lucas has developed into a very good team player scoring goals and making many assists. Over the years Lucas rarely missed Inter Club, training sessions and matches. He has always shown excellent sportsmanship and has been a very good role model.

ALSO DESERVING A SPECIAL MENTION
FJSC Under 6’s once again played in the Sefton and Knowsley Development League. All season FJSC fielded at least two teams -the Whites and the Blacks and on a few occasions a Red team also played. It was a great experience for the boys.
More recently the Under 6’s have had four teams playing the new FA format of 3 aside in preparation for next season.
A FJSC Under 5 team was also formed towards the end of the season.
It has been a very successful season for Formby Junior Sports Club.

NEXT SEASON’S MEMBERSHIP FORMS
Membership forms and Inter Club times for season 2026-2027 are now available.
Present members in Representative Teams will receive forms by email from present team managers. Inter Club members who are not in Representative teams should now have received new membership forms.
New membership forms are also available to download by going onto the Formby Junior Sports club website formbyjuniorsportsclub.co.uk and scrolling down to Club Documents and then Membership Form 2026-2027.
The new season for the Inter Club section will commence on Saturday 5th September, 2026.
OTHER CLUB NEWS
FJSC would like to congratulate five membersof the FJSC Under 13 Black team - Caden Walker, Seb Goatley, Louis O’Connor, Sylvan O’Hara and Alex Barr. The boys were all members of the St Mary’s College, Under 13 team who won the National Under 13 Small Schools Cup last week. The matches were all played at Stoke City’s Bet 365 Stadium. Well done boys on a fantastic achievement.
