FJSC Blacks Under 12 Saturday team came into this game after a good pre-season where plenty of effort was put in by the boys for the last eight weeks. Soon after Caden Walker then added a second to put FJSC deservedly 2-0 up. FJSC Under 12 Black Sunday team came into the game high on confidence from Saturdays league fixture and it showed within the first ten minutes. With Ellis Coyne, Caden Walker, Alfie Forsyth and Sylvan O’Hara making a solid midfield four plenty of chances were created with great link up play between Charlie Richardson and Isaac Jones. Against the run of play FJSC conceded a penalty when a shoulder to shoulder challenge was deemed a foul and inside the area. Against the run of play Southport made it 2-1 with a well taken penalty. The setback seemed to rattle FJSC and their rhythm was lost amongst the driving rain and a long looping cross from Southport somehow snuck into the far top corner and the scores where suddenly 2-2. At this point it would have been easy for FJSC to collapse but the team pulled themselves together and after hitting the cross bar four times and the post once Isaac Jones finished another chance for his hat trick to make 3-2 at half time.
After half time Sylvan O’Hara scoring a bullet header from a corner to make it 4-2. Finley Scott, Luke Millington and Leo Fagan added some fresh legs and helped the boys settle before Charlie Richardson added a fifth goal for the team which his performance deserved after another unselfish performance where he created many chances.

The highlight for FJSC was undoubtedly goalkeeper Rowan Mullin, who made a series of acrobatic saves . Peter McCormick provided a bright spot in attack, clinically finishing his opportunity to get FJSC on the scoresheet.
While FJSC's work rate was evident, the teamplaying together for the first time struggled with positional awareness, tracking back, and marking. FJSC Under 9 Black played their first everleague game against an established and very strong Crosby Stuart team. Although thefinal scoreline would suggest otherwise, the FJSC boys defended excellently, and were able to get into their opponent’s half on a number of occasions, testing the keeper with a couple of decent shots, winning corners in the process. The Blacks fought right to the very end but ultimately, Crosby Stuart’s experience and ability was just too much. It was a plucky and spirited performance from FJSC, who should be proud of their effort and determination. These experiences will only make the team stronger and even more prepared for the next match!
