Formby FC reach the Premier Division as promotion dream becomes reality

Formby FC have officially confirmed their promotion to the Premier Division of the Liverpool Premier League for the 2026 to 2027 season, marking a major moment in the club’s history.

In what can only be described as a sensational campaign, the Squirrels have earned their place amongst the elite, achieving their long term ambition ahead of schedule. The club originally set out a five year plan following re affiliation, but have reached the Premier Division in just four years. Promotion was previously declined last season, as performances at the time were not felt to justify the step up.

Now, the focus turns to the challenge ahead. The Premier Division is widely regarded as one of the toughest and most competitive leagues in the North West, and Formby FC have made it clear they are aiming not just to compete, but to challenge.

Preparations are already underway, with the club actively looking to strengthen the squad ahead of next season.
