Formby Community Football Club is celebrating a fantastic achievement after once again being awarded the prestigious 3 Star Accredited status by The Football Association, highlighting the club’s continued commitment to excellence both on and off the pitch.
The accreditation is only given to clubs that meet the highest standards across grassroots football, recognising those that provide a safe, well run and forward thinking environment for players. For Formby Community FC, retaining this status is a powerful endorsement of the club’s ongoing dedication to quality coaching, strong safeguarding, effective organisation and meaningful community engagement.
It also reinforces the club’s position as one of the leading grassroots football organisations in the area, built on strong values, high standards and a clear commitment to continuous improvement.
Club founder Tina Hamilton said:
“Retaining this accreditation is a proud moment for everyone connected with Formby Community FC. It reflects the dedication of so many people across the club, from our players and families to our coaches, volunteers and committee members, all of whom play such an important part in making the club what it is.”
Fellow founder Martin Thornton added:
“From the very beginning, we wanted to build a club that was inclusive, welcoming and rooted in the local community. To see those values recognised again through this accreditation is something we are all incredibly proud of.”
Ray Pendleton, also one of the club’s founders, said:
“Retaining FA 3 Star Accredited status is a strong endorsement of the standards the club continues to uphold across all areas of its work. It is a credit to everyone involved and gives us a great platform to keep moving the club forward in the right way. I would especially like to thank the club committee, particularly Club Secretary Andy Geoghegan, without whose professionalism and dedication this 3 Star accreditation would not be possible.”
This latest recognition marks another important milestone for the club and further strengthens its reputation as a thriving grassroots organisation at the heart of the Formby community.
With more than 35 teams across boys, girls and adult football, Formby Community FC continues to offer opportunities for players of all ages and abilities to enjoy the game, develop their skills and be part of a positive, supportive and ambitious club environment.
