Volunteers from across #Formby have once again come together to help tackle litter and protect our beautiful environment – showing just how strong our community spirit is.
The latest clean-up took place as part of the national Great British Spring Clean campaign, organised by the charity Keep Britain Tidy. In true Formby style, local residents of all ages rolled up their sleeves and got involved.
Local Pride in Action -
Led by our dedicated local councillors, and supported by Sefton Council’s Street Cleansing Team, volunteers were out in force armed with gloves, bags and litter pickers. From pathways to green spaces, these clean-ups have helped collect hundreds of bags of rubbish, improving the look and feel of our local area.

Three pupils from Formby High School also joined in, proving that community pride starts young.
Over 250 Bags Collected
This year, more than 250 bags of litter were collected with the help of Sefton’s cleansing team and passionate Formby residents. These efforts are part of a national movement, but it’s the local dedication here in Formby that really makes a difference.

“Together, We Can Achieve So Much”
Cllr Christopher Page, Ravenmeols Ward, said:
“It is inspiring to see people come together for the good of our community. Keeping Formby clean is a shared effort, and every time we do a clean-up, I’m reminded of how much we can achieve when we work side by side.”
Want to Get Involved?
Everyone in Formby is welcome to take part in future litter picks or even organise their own. If you’re interested in helping out, reach out to your local councillors or keep an eye on upcoming events.

Let’s Keep Formby Beautiful
Fly-tipping and careless littering harm the places we love. If you see any incidents, please report them directly to Sefton Council at: www.sefton.gov.uk/fly-tipping
Together, we can keep Formby clean, green, and a place we’re all proud to call home.
