A Formby bodybuilder is celebrating a major victory after taking first place at a national competition — and now has his sights firmly set on an even bigger prize.
Local resident John Yousseff was crowned Masters Champion at the FitX Championships in Bolton yesterday, marking a significant achievement in his bodybuilding journey.
The Masters category is a highly competitive class, typically featuring experienced athletes over the age of 40, making John’s win even more impressive against a strong field of competitors.
Following this success, John is now preparing for the next major step — competing in the prestigious Mr Universe competition taking place in Derby on Sunday 24th May.
If he wins, John will be awarded a Pro Card — a milestone in bodybuilding which would elevate him to professional status and allow him to compete at the highest level in the sport.
Speaking after his win, John shared his excitement about the journey ahead, with all eyes now on next weekend’s competition.
We wish him the very best of luck as he represents the area on such a big stage.
