Five teenagers now arrested after Formby robbery as police continue enquiries

A total of five teenagers have now been arrested following a robbery in Formby, as police continue to investigate the incident.
The latest arrests were made yesterday, Tuesday 21 April, when two 16 year old boys from Blundellsands and Southport were detained on suspicion of robbery. Both have been conditionally bailed pending further enquiries.
They join three other teenagers who were arrested shortly after the incident, a 15 year old boy from Formby and two boys aged 14 and 15 from Hightown, who also remain on conditional bail.
The robbery took place at around 4.40pm on Saturday 18 April on Duke Street. It was reported that a 15 year old boy was approached and threatened by a group of males, who then stole a number of personal items including his sunglasses, mobile phone, cash, watch and bank card.
Officers were quickly on the scene at the time, with Police Community Support Officers and neighbourhood officers identifying suspects nearby and making the initial arrests soon after the incident.
Police have confirmed that enquiries are ongoing as they continue to gather evidence and establish the full circumstances of what happened.
They are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have information, CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time to come forward.
