Formby Village is the scene of a major emergency response this afternoon, Sunday 23rd June, as police and emergency services descended upon the area.

All roads leading into the village, including Sumner Road car park, Three Tuns Lane, School Lane, and the main village thoroughfare, have been completely blocked off by police vehicles.

In a dramatic development, the air ambulance helicopter was seen landing in the Waitrose car park, indicating the gravity of the situation.

Details of the incident remain unclear at this time. However, eyewitnesses have reported seeing a significant number of emergency responders on the scene. One bystander suggested that a child may have been run over, though this has not yet been confirmed by authorities.

The extensive police presence and road closures suggest that the situation is extremely serious.

Residents and visitors are advised to avoid the area until further notice.
