Emergency Rescue for Injured Red Squirrel in Formby Leaves Hopes High for Recovery 🐿️

The Merseyside and Lancashire Red Squirrel Project has shared an update after responding to reports of an injured red squirrel earlier today, Monday 6th April, on Larkhill Lane, Formby.

Volunteers quickly attended the scene and were able to safely capture the squirrel before placing it into a secure carrier. It was then transported to Village Vets for assessment and treatment.

Despite its injuries, the squirrel was described as “feisty,” giving hope that it will make a good recovery. 🤞

A big thank you to the team for their swift response and continued efforts to protect Formby’s much-loved red squirrels.
