A car has crashed into a house on Kirklake Road in #Formby. Emergency services have been on the scene since 4pm this afternoon.
Merseyside Police have closed off Kirklake Road from the junction of Ward Avenue up to Woodlands Road. The house is right opposite Woodlands Road and is thought to be unstable after the accident.
The driver had been rushed to hospital but unfortunately we have not been told of his condition yet.
8 year old Freddie got to sit in the police car after his mum took out hot chocolate for the police.
The incident happened just after 4pm this afternoon.
The road was cordoned off and remains cordoned off now. Local residents have been out giving the police hot drinks and one lucky little boy named Freddie was allowed to sit in the police car after his mum took out some hot chocolate for the police on duty to help warm them up.
When fire crews arrived on the scene, the driver was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be cut out before being taken to hospital. There are now concerns about the damage to the structure of the property.
An air ambulance landed in Duke Street Park as other emergency services also descended on the incident. The police cordon remains in place, 8:30pm.
