Beach Angels Return to Help Keep Formby’s Coastline Beautiful

The popular Formby & Freshfield Beach Litter Angels are back in action on Tuesday 11 August, inviting the community to join them for another evening of helping keep Formby’s beautiful coastline clean.

Whether you’re a regular volunteer or would like to come along for the first time, everyone is welcome to get involved.

Event timeline

🕡 6.15pm – Volunteers can begin arriving at Bay 1, Lifeboat Road car park, Formby Point (L37).

🚗 On arrival – Please give your name and vehicle registration to one of the admin team to receive free parking while attending the event.

🦺 Collect your equipment – Sanitised litter picking equipment and bags will be provided before heading out onto the beach.

🌊 6.30pm – Prompt start of the beach clean.

🕢 7.30pm – Official finish, although you’re welcome to leave earlier if needed.

Before you attend

• Please read the Health & Safety guidance in the pinned posts on the Beach Angels Facebook group before attending.

• Wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear for the terrain.

• Please bring your own gloves if possible. Gloves will also be available to purchase on the night for £2 (correct change appreciated).

• Please return all equipment to the admin team at the end of the event.

The beach clean is hosted by the Beach Angels admin team of Tracy, Nigel, Heather and Megan, who are looking forward to welcoming everyone back for another fantastic community event.

Whether you can spare the whole hour or just part of it, every piece of litter collected helps protect Formby’s stunning coastline and the wildlife that calls it home.
