Another proud day at Formby High School celebrating outstanding GCSE results this year

Formby High School is celebrating more outstanding GCSE results in this year. The ‘Class of 2025’

has excelled, achieving some of the highest results in the school’s history, surpassing records set in 2024.

Particular highlights include:

• Further English and Maths success – results in these key subjects rose once again, with 78% students achieved at least a Grade 4 in both subjects, while the proportion of students achieving Grade 5 or better rising once more, to an impressive 69%.

• Continuing strong attainment across the curriculum – great success has been achieved in both GCSE and vocational subjects. 86% of all entries scored Grade 4 or above, with 71% Formby High School ‘Determined to Achieve’ Newsroom reaching a Grade 5 or more. Achievement in the vast majority subjects remains well above the national average, with exceptional outcomes in a number of academic and vocational

qualifications.

• More high achievers and personal success – A third of all grades were awarded at Grade 7 or above, and with 17 students attaining at least nine Grade 7s or more. In total, 105 Grade 9s were awarded to students, with a number of students achieving quite exceptional grades.

The majority of students will be returning to Formby High School’s Sixth Form and there was great excitement as they enrolled on their new courses this morning. We look forward to seeing them in

September, and to welcoming a number of new students to the school community.

Headteacher, Mr Alex Wood, commented: “Our students have excelled, and it’s been wonderful to share in the excitement and joy as they received

their results this morning . As always, the achievements are the result of a team effort by our students, their families and the brilliant staff here at Formby High School who work tirelessly to ensure our young people can reach their full potential. Some of our students have achieved exceptionally strong grades, and there are many others who have shown huge resilience and determination to succeed.”
