Award winning local choir has great success at festivals

For the last few weeks the award winning Voice Your Voice choir based in Formby & Southport, led by the principal of the Catherine Victoria Academy has successfully performed at both the Hightown Festival & the Southport Festival.

The Hightown festival was a first for the choir and the organiser was so impressed they were asked back the following day to perform solos! Returning to the Southport festival for a second year, the choir performed at both Christ Church and on the outdoor stage performing a mixture of chart hits and songs from the musicals. "I am so proud of the choir; the singers have worked very hard in preparation for these events and their achievements over the last year have been incredible. I'm looking forward to creating more opportunities for them and meeting new members who are keen to sing with like minded individuals and of course with singing being such a great activity to improve mental health, this hour a week allows me to give them something that I know will benefit each and every member". The choir has had so much success in Formby, that we have now opened our doors in Southport!! We are looking for boys and girls aged 7 - 18 years to join our choir. There is an upcoming chance to perform at Disneyland Paris in the near future and we are also interested in strong soloists for large upcoming projects.

The choir is now available to join in two venues: Formby Methodist Church Hall, Formby on Tuesdays, 6pm and St Patricks Church Hall, Churchtown on Fridays, 5.30pm. Upcoming gigs include the Liverpool International music festival where the choir will be singing with famous artists live on stage plus many more wonderful opportunities in the pipeline!
